Initially employed by CLS, Jean-Philippe Richard was transferred to MIGC when the CLS workshop closed. He is currently working at Métallisation du Nord (MDN).
On November 2, 2018, there was a serious accident involving an MDN worker and it is Jean-Philippe who stepped in and acted as first responder.
While an overhead travelling crane was being operated, 40,000 lbs of metal fell onto an employee, mainly on his legs. The severely injured employee suffering from open fractures was yelling in pain. Despite the serious nature of the accident, Jean-Philip was able to stay calm. He asked other workers to leave the area so he could take care of the injured worker and in fact was able to stop the bleeding while waiting for help to arrive.
We would like to thank Jean-Philippe for his presence of mind and congratulate him for this act of civic duty.
